Buddy Yosha is embedded in the fabric of Indiana, but our story starts with Buddy’s father - Abe Abraham Yosha.
Like countless others seeking a better life, Abe Abraham Yosha set foot on Ellis Island in 1904, having left his home in Monastir (North Macedonia). Despite speaking little English and with no education, Abe managed to start his own business – a small grocery store on the southside of downtown Indianapolis. Driven to share the American Dream with his family, Abe saved the money needed to travel across the Atlantic and bring more of his relatives from their small village in Macedonia - including his brother, Dave Abraham, Buddy Yosha’s uncle and father of world-renowned business consultant, Jay Abraham.
The seeds of Yosha Law were planted as Louis ‘Buddy’ Yosha became licensed to practice law in Indiana. Quickly finding his calling as a trial lawyer, Buddy would develop a reputation for courtroom success against corporate giants looking to leverage their power and take advantage of everyday Hoosiers. The boy from Indiana had started his journey to becoming one of the best lawyers in America.
Through his work as a trial lawyer, Buddy found his name appearing in the newspaper that would later become the Indianapolis Star. Achieving national acclaim, this press never stopped with 60 years worth of headlines in hundreds of publications including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Buddy became the youngest trial lawyer in Indiana ever inducted into Marquis Who's Who Top Lawyers in America.
Buddy served as a faculty member on three occasions at the prestigious three-day Mock Trial Institute at Ann Arbor. Attended by over 1,000 trial lawyers from across America, Buddy’s guest lecturing reflected his passion for giving back to the legal community and supporting the next generation of lawyers - many of whom point to Buddy as the best education they’ve ever received in their own long and distinguished careers.
Successful from day one, Buddy’s victories in court stretched from the man on the street to global entertainers. In 1986, Buddy represented world-famous singer Engelbert Humperdink in a case involving breach of contract. After Humperdinck was unable to perform due to an illness, Buddy successfully argued that it was not Humperdinck’s fault he could not complete his contract.
Buddy, along with Teresa L. Todd, authors the 1990 edition, Vol 3 of Indiana Automobile Torts Digest that rests in the Library of Congress. Having lectured thousands of budding attorneys and contributed to countless textbook chapters and legal manuals, Buddy’s first full book release marked another milestone in a long career of educating present and future trial attorneys.
An unforgettable year for Buddy who welcomed son, Brandon Abraham Yosha, into the world. Brandon would grow up closely watching his father’s approach to personal litigation and learn first-hand the importance of delivering full, total justice. With an interest in the law that has everything to do with Buddy, Brandon would later come to join Yosha Law as a junior partner and continue his father’s legacy of fighting for the little guy.
Buddy is awarded Sagamore of the Wabash by the Governor of Indiana - a personal tribute usually given to those who have rendered distinguished service to the state of Indiana. Among those who have received Sagamores have been astronauts, presidents, ambassadors, artists, musicians, politicians, and now - Buddy Yosha.
Bryan C. Tisch joins the firm. With a passion for trial work and helping people secure justice through the legal system, Bryan has worked on a number of cases involving serious injury or death. Bryan has been recognized on multiple lists including the Super Lawyers list as a Rising Star - which recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in each state under 40 years of age - as well as Best Lawyers in America.
Buddy is honored with the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Chosen by a select ITLA committee, this prestigious award is given to just one lawyer each year who has given a substantial part of their practice and life to the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association and done more than is called for. Reflecting Buddy’s empathy and desire to give back to the Indiana legal community through education, mentorship, and support, this award sits proudly in the Yosha Law office.
A life-changing year for all, the pandemic year also marked with a record-breaking win for Buddy, Brandon and the team. The firm’s mixture of veteran and young lawyers combine to secure a $20 million jury verdict against a Fortune 500 energy company following a near fatal electric shock. Despite the effects of the pandemic causing challenges in and out of the courtroom, the team - including Brandon Yosha who was sworn into the Indiana Bar just five weeks earlier - turned a frivolous pre-trial offer of $50,000 into a life-changing sum of $20.3 million in compensatory damages.
Carrying on his father’s legacy, several prominent organizations and lists have recognized Brandon Yosha for demonstrating tremendous skill and promise as a young oral advocate.
This includes an endorsement from ‘Marquis Who’s Who - Top Lawyers in America’. In December 2021, Brandon became the youngest attorney ever inducted into Marquis Who’s Who - a biographical publication founded in 1898. Brandon was also selected into the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 and Top 40 Under 40. With each award, endorsement, or recognition, Brandon continues to build on the Yosha name.

Six decades after he started making headlines, Buddy was once again recognized by Best Lawyers in America – the only peer-reviewed guide providing rankings for the nation’s preeminent lawyers. This marks 40 consecutive years on this prestigious list – making Buddy the only Indiana lawyer listed in every edition of Best Lawyers In America.
